My daughter is almost halfway through the game (GCN version) and she hasn't been able to get a single howling stone to work. I've watched some of her attempts and it appears she hits the notes exactly. It has made her extremely frustrated. So she begged me to play the game to see if I encountered the same problems.

Against my better judgement (I really don't have time to be addicted to game at this time) I got sucked in. At my first opportunity to howl, I did. Although I did not hit the notes as neatly (exactly on the mark) as my daughter did, I eventually heard the little music play to indicate that I had opened something/ completed the task. Well naturally my daughter was pissed that I did it when my howling was so sloppy compared to hers.

However here is the glitch....at my first opportunity back as human link, when I went to the wolf location, there was no wolf. I also want to add that the wolf emblem never showed up on any of the maps either. Is there some sort of glitch in our game? Is this an integral part of the game? Will we have to get this to work to play through to the end? By the way we do have the locations of the stones along with their corresponding wolf locations. Thanks in advance for any help.

After you did the howling correctly and got the little "unlock" music did the scene go to a moutain top with the golden wolf? You have to howl there again with the golden wolf to get him to speak to you. Then it will show the wolf on your map and take you back to the stone. If you dont howl to the golden wolf it doesn't unlock the wolf location on the map.

after that the golden wolf's head will apear somewhere on the map, go there to get another hidden skill
