im in the castle and im at the part where theres those boomerang poles with the things on top but i cant figure out what to do ive tried everything it doesnt work can someone help me out

Are you sure you mean Hyrule Castle and not the Forest Temple?

If this is what you're after then look at the ground.

There are actually a few of those same things in Hyrule Castle, too, Bill.

As for what you actually DO with them, I couldn't quite figure anything out, but I do know that it's not necessary to complete the game.

The reward is the Dungeon Map, and to do it right you need to look at the ground in front of the cage north of the wind towers. Blow away the leaves to see a triforce. See the line on it? Blow the towers in that order (the towers are on a giant triforce).

Cool! I guess I still have a ways to go. I didn't realize there were more of those gadgets to use the boomerang on. Hmmm. I thought I had been all through the Castle. I guess not. I'm glad there are more opportunities to use the boomerang.

I've been using the clawshot for all kinds of stuff - most recently on the sand critters in the Gerudo desert, and climbing around the Eldin Bridge.
