Battle with Zant
He keeps shooting balls of darkness at me, i've tried swinging my sword, but nothing happens. Help please >.<

What part are you at? You have to use a different method for every part. If you are at the first swamp part you use your Gale Boomerang to draw him close than attack. And block his attack with your shield.
