| | | Pokemon is a great game. I had quit after Gold and Silver, then my step-brother bought Ruby, and I beat that, but just cause I was bored. I bought Leaf Green cause some of my friends started playing it again, and I was like, thats kool, its a remake. Then I got Diamond, and beat it to death, had a killer party (no legendaries), and got to where no one could beat me. Then, the hype died down once again. But, Pokemon is still a great game.
I see it lasting as long as they want it to. I don't see them adding more and more pokemon at a rate that they have been though. One thing I noticed with Diamond and Pearl is that there is so much detail in the game now, that when you get right down to it there are only a handful of pokemon out of 493 that are actually good to use for battles.
So, Nintendo will get smart and do something different with the series I believe, like start making games that you can't get every pokemon in, or start a new series up with new pokemon, a different region, where most older pokemon are not accessible. Eventually they will have to. Its going to get complicated to pack in thousands of creatures in a game like that.  |
