I'm having trouble playing multi-player with mario party 8. (which is the point of the game)

I go to the party tent, and click 3 players, me, and 2 others, not computer players. A little box comes up, saying to connect 2 wiimotes. So, i click and hold the 1 and 2 on both the wiimotes, but, they don't connect. Am i being stupid? How am i suppoesd to connect them?

you have to have 4 wii motes and they need to all be synched to your wii, then just press A (making sure they have batteries)

Press the home button, and got to "Re-connect the Wii-remote". It's somewhere under options. After that just press 1 + 2 on both remotes (You'll see a confirmation that they've connected propperly). That's how I always do it.
