It looks cool, but i still have my old DS "Phat" so i probably won't get this one. :( Also, my old Ds is in great shape.

Whats that hole on the front? A camera or something?

It's the little changes to electronics that keep people coming back for more, but I am not intrigued. I have my DS Lite, and I only need it for playing my DS games and nothing more.

Agreed. I always considered the DS as a 'gaming only' device (and an alarm clock ). I don't need stuff like cameras and music players. There are way better devices out there which do the same thing, only better.

Although DSWare does sound interesting, wonder if they can also offer it on the old DS (Lite).

It looks interesting... I wonder if you'll still be able to play games with (or against) your friends who have the older models.. And, what was that small white thing, a remote?

The hole on the outside is a .3 megapixel camera, and the inside hole is a lower resolution camera.

I'm pretty sure that this will only appeal to those who don't have a DS or want to upgrade. (I don't need to though, I bought my dslite a couple of months ago.)

I agree, the upgrades aren't necessary, but who knows, people might appreciate it. I can already do music playback using homebrew, but a camera might be a cool addition.

As for the remote thing, I'm guessing it's to control the music player. Maybe even for the camera. Oh and I don't think there's a need to worry about connecting with older models... it's just a slight upgrade, and is still pretty much a dslite.

NDSiWare will only be available to the DSi though. Theres no internal memory, or any way to store games onto the older models.

It's interesting, but I'll stick with my Lite, I play GBA games on it anyway and the DS is a games-only thing for me. I use the internet with my Wii, but I'd be reluctant to do the same with a DS.

I just noticed that the new NDSiWare has the possibility of adding virtual console games to the DS. Possibly GB/GBC/GBA emulation? That would be pretty sweet.
