I'm looking for something with a reasonable amount of eps (so not Bleach or Naruto or Kenshin or something), preferably in the style of Full Metal Panic and The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. If anyone knows/cares (probably not but I can try anyway right?).

Full Metal alchemist is the best anime series ever, imo. It has such a great story, it's original, very lovable characters, others you love to hate and I liked the whole alchemy thing... :3

One I wasn't a fan of: Elfen Lied. The core of the story felt like it was told a million times in anime (being different/regected/seen as a monster), it was really violent to begin with then it got into girl anime mode with Nyu (she sounds retarded btw) and I dunno it just seemed like the anime didn't progress much until the very end... -_-'

Wow, really? I didn't realize it was THAT unpopular/unknown. It's actually DNA to the second power. It's about this guy in highschool who hates his life because he can't get a girl. Then this girl from the future comes and shoots him with a bullet that makes him more attractive and an overall better person. It's kind of weird, but when's the last time anyone has seen an anime that was "normal"?
