| | Girls Playing Video Games? Hi guys!
I was just wondering if any of the girls are somewhat ticked off by how the media protrays women as how they "should be" stupid, fake and girly like sticks,And how they don't play games?
I'm a girl and I'm not a fake,"girly" type girl and I love playing Zelda,the NFS series,GTA among others. |

| | | Everyone here should be lucky that I'm not the crazy-ass-feminist I was in Aug/Sept/Oct or I'd be making a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig deal outta this
However.
It's not just in videogames this happens. It can happen in anything. Yes, it really sucks, I totally agree. But I think it's gonna take a long time for the gender equality in this sort of thing to happen.

| | | Well, not all females are portrayed the same. They are depicted as the creator of whatever media outlet in question sees them as. Do you honestly think all guys are hardcore action heroes or idiot stoners? | | The Following 2 Users Say Thank You to BlackZero For This Useful Post: | |

Virtually any belief system has a way of turning off people's rationality. I should know. I've spent the last few weeks on the Mythbuster's forums arguing with die hard believers in alien crop circles and people who think it's actually possible to curve a bullet by flicking your wrist when you fire a weapon. | | The Following User Says Thank You to BlackZero For This Useful Post: | |

Low xp, low kills, no tags - for Enemy Territory, it kind of says it all. So it's really more of the 12 to 14 year olds that are just experiencing online-gaming for the first time, with many of the girls of that age, dunno, sitting around with each other giggling about make-up and Orlando Bloom (yay more stereotypes).
The more experienced ones go, like, 5-4-1 and shoot her in the head. So it's all about maturity, I guess. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
