If you are good at puzzles, you have a developed mathematical ability; because the same though process and parts of the brain used for syllogistic reasoning and scientific logic (problem solving and puzzles) are the ones used in mathematics. I think you are like me: you don't get along with numbers, but the mathematical reasoning skills are there. Do not confuse that with being bad at math; numbers are their own language. And if that isn't encouraging enough, I'll quote Einstein:
"Never worry about your difficulties in mathematics for I assure you mine are greater."
