The forums have gone downhill and some of the senior members are leaving because of this. We, the members, can do something about it. Just follow the rules, report offensive posts, and search before you make a new thread.
Every forum has certain rules, this forum has them too. You can view the rules by clicking on Forum Rules in the top left corner. Please read these carefully and respect them.
If a post is clearly in violation with the rules, please click the "report to moderator" button:
This will report the post to a moderator who will take care of the rest for you.
No racist, sexist, homophobic or all around discriminatory posts. Please respect other members and their opinions.
Don't ask to be a moderator or any other higher rank. This would be considered begging and is highly annoying. It will probably reduce your chances if you attempt to do so anyway. Begging is punishable.

Please don't double post. Seeing three posts by the same user in a row is quite annoying. And you have to scroll more, surely you don't want to do that! If you do happen to double post (shame on you!) you can easily remove it by clicking on "Edit" and "Delete".
Never beg for points or create a begging thread, many users find this highly annoying. You can earn points yourself by posting and helping people.
Also, refer to the "all about points" sticky. Begging for points in post, or in shoutbox is punishable.
Avoid using lots of smiley's in your posts. People have no need to know your emotions in every sentence. Here's a nice example by mcfugg:

If you think its questionable, but still want to post it, ask a mod. Inappropriate material will be deleted, and depending on severity, can result in banning.

Necromancy. Don't bring back old topics. Old would be considered over two weeks. Unless the post actually has value to the topic, refrain from doing so. First time will get a warning, second time an infraction
No Plagiarism. If you didn't make it, don't claim it as your own, you'll get found out anyway. Plagiarism can result to an infraction.
DO NOT SPAM THE SHOUTBOX!!! Shout ranks do not matter, and spamming in order to raise your rank is not allowed. If you are caught spamming, action will be taken. Do it enough, and you will be banned.
Do NOT ask for personal information of other users. This includes names, email address, etc. If the user wants you to know it, they will give it to you. You can ask them directly, but do not ask for it from others. Also, if you ask them once and they say no, do not bother them about it any more. If anyone is bothering you to obtain personal information, REPORT them.

Wow, that is a really great post. I love how you included examples. I think it will make it much easier for the newer people.
Maybe you could say something about not including too many smiles in their post. That can get annoying too.

thanks papayo im sure you cleared up the basic forum rules for many members...ya no begging for points i hate that crap and people who plagiarize it is so disrespectful to the people who wrote whatever it is themselves...and i 100% agree with no racist, sexist, etc. posts because those can get a little out of hand
