I understand there is already a largely un-noticed book thread but the book I have been reading is so awesome it needs a thread of it's own. The book is called 'Forever Midnight' by John Shirley.

A cousin had bought this book for me a while back and hadn't read it until today on the bus.

The book is set in the aliens and predator universe, on the jungle planet midnight that is forever daytime ( hence the book title ), the humans have been trying to inhabit the planet while predators continue there sacred hunt. The predators already inhabit the planet and attack an arriving ship and enslave the humans aboard.

The book is set in the viewpoint of the predators so it gives more insight to the predator culture and language. So far it's been one of my favourite books, good for both casual and heavy readers.

That does sound awesome, and I might actually order it. I loved the Predator movie, and enjoyed AvP (I admit it was dumb, but I still liked it), but those movies told you so little about the Predators themselves.

Yeah, compared to predator AvP was kinda dumb. The ending? There's a single predalian on a predator mother ship containing a few hundred thousand of the highest ranked hunters? Where the hell does that plot go? A 5 minute clip of it being ripped in half by the predators?

....or at least sneak into see it after watching another movie
