Do you know how to pay trill? ive tried to figure it out but i can only steal from him which is kindve annoying because everytime i want to buy something i get attacked.

There's a box under him, press A there and you can pay him.

I always just pay that guy one rupee. If you do that, instead of just attacking you, he just calls you a cheapskate and that's all.

Rupees are quite useful when using magic armor, especially if you want to wear it for some of the harder enemies in the Cave of Ordeals, I know I needed it.

I tried that but it didnt work i probably wasnt close enough or something

ya the same thing happend to me,now everytime i try to pay him he keeps on hitting me away from the box,yet i still try,so i just run scoop up and run out befor he can hit me.

(Shame poor guy he must be making very little money from me)

You can still pay him. You just have to press A next to the box and he will stop pecking you. Then pay him at least 1 Rupee and he will stop pecking you. Then pick up some lantern oil or red potion. He will not peck you when you come back but he will call you a cheapskate.
