Things that should never happen to the Zelda series

What would you hate to see happen to the Zelda series? You know everything gets tarnished these days so here is a list of some of my fears. I would never want to see the series go anywhere near these.

-The legend of zelda..........in space.

-Changing it to modern times. I can see it now: hip-hop Link, green beanie, baggy pants, etc. *shudders*

-The legend of zelda the movie. You know they'll put someone like Zac Efron or Paul Walker as Link. Or Vin Diesel as Ganondorf. no, no, no,.......
(Liam Neeson would make a good Ganondorf but still, I don't want to see it happen!)....no no no.

-Voice acting for Link. They will screw it up. I like my heroes strong and silent.

Damn, I had a few more but can't remember.

Post your fears.

I don't think you'll have to fear for the Zelda in Space and Zelda: Mod3rn T1mes. Just a little too out of Zelda, even for Nintendo.

Further:
Indeed the Zelda Movie is something I fear for.
The Legend of Zelda Karting.
Zelda Partygame.
More 'HEY! LISTEN!'.
A new cell-shaded Zelda... I like the 'realistic' look far, far better.
A Zelda in which you don't get to be Link (but some side-kick person).
A FF-style Zelda RPG. :S

No futuristic Zelda game, or party zelda games.

None of those things will ever happen. For one thing, they couldn't effectively translate Zelda to any one of those genres. Second of all, it's too late for that to work.

Let's take a look at the Mario series. You've seen all the variants on the series, like the RPGs, the karting games, the sports games, and so on. Well, most of those were introduced on the SNES, and the N64. The ones released now are basically recycled versions of the old games, though I'm sure we're all used to that. Add to that the fact that at the time, the series was fresh from the dizzying heights of Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World. Nintendo still had it in them to translate Mario and his world into different concepts, like a racing game, and actually make it a good game.

Now, the Zelda series is a different kettle of fish (though whoever would put fish in a kettle must be insane). The Zelda series is, and has always been a series of adventure games. They could translate it into a racing game for example, but that would be quite weird and probably wouldn't be publicly accepted, or get the desired amount of sales.

I'm sure there are various other points I've left out regarding this subject, but that should be enough for now.

Yeah I'm afraid they'll replace Link too and you know someone's going to make a movie sooner or later. I'm sure someone is looking at your party game zelda fear right now thinking "Brilliant. that can be done!"

Yes that may be true..for now but I'm sure it will all be done when the current zelda creators die off and someone younger and "hipper" takes over
and screws it all up. That is another fear of mine, if they die, who takes over?

I think younger people would actually have a far smaller chance to f00k up like that. They've grown up with the Zelda's we know and love, whereas the 'older folk' probably don't have the same kind of love for the series as we have - they have never played the games 'for the first time', without knowing what would happen, which door to pick in some dungeon, how to defeat that particular vicious Temple boss... I actually think them old people would create something 'lesser' far sooner than new people (who obviously have played those games, why else work for Nintendo? ).

HylianHitman: verily true points, that.

*nods in agreement*
True, true. But I'm talking many years from now. Not the 80's kids. The next generation will be the one's to screw it up, if Zelda lives on. Ah well, maybe I'll be dead by then so what do I care?
