| | | PSP Homebrew Help! Alright, so I've had a psp for a few months, and I haven't been able to downgrade it because I need to get a copy of lumines.
Anyways, I'm finally about to get the game so I need some help with this stuff because I'm a noob at this psp homebrew scene.
So using lumines will take me down to FW 1.5 right?
Then I just install a custom firmware? Which one is recommended?
What homebrew programs do I need to play snes? gba? psx?
anyone know?

| | Yes, downgrading with the 3.5 Lumines downgrader will bring you to firmware 1.50. From there you can install any custom firmware you want. The most recommended firmware right now is 3.71 M33-3, though. Here's a guide: [GUIDE] Installing 3.71 M33 Custom Firmware. Get Help Here. - QJ.NET Forums
The best GBA emulator right now is gpSP. It has pretty high compatibility and is full speed. Installation is pretty straightforward. Just drag the GPSP folder to your GAME folder (X: PSP/GAME/GPSP). Here's the DL link (you'll need a GBA BIOS, since it's an illegal file, I can't post it here. Google it.): File Details-gpSP-v0.9-for-TA-082-HEN-D-users-PSP-Emulators - Snes9xTYL 0.4.2 is recommended for SNES. It's a port of Snes9x for the PC. It's pretty much full speed but some games have slowdowns. Here's the DL link: File Details-Snes9xTYL-0.4.2-ME-for-PSP-Slim-PSP-Emulators - (ignore the filename, it also work on the old PSP).
PSX is a different story. The firmware has a build in emulator. Luckily for us it's been hacked. You can convert your PSX ISO's with a program like Simple Popstation GUI. Download link: [PSP] [Source code] Simple Popstation GUI v3.00 beta
That pretty much sums it up, if you need any other help feel free to PM me! I’ve been in the PSP scene since the 2.5 eLoader (back in april 2006 )

| | | Weee! Lumines has arrived! I downgraded my PSP, and now it's CF 3.71 M33-3.
Took me a while to do it though since I'm so new to this stuff. I barely got the SNES emu to work because I didn't know about this 1.50 kernal.
I got a few more questions though.
Is most of the snes roms supposed to be slow? I figured that since the PSP has better hardware that the SNES emulator should be working fullspeed most of the time... Sadly at this time it looks like my DS is faster at emulating SNES...(with graphical glitches yeah, but sound works too)
Is there a way to make the emulator faster? I want to play it with sound, so turning it off is not a good option for me...
Anyways, that's all the questions for now i guess.

| | | Good to hear you got things working!
You are using the ME version, right? What games are running slow for you? You can speed things up a bit by changing the 'framskip' option to a higher value, this'll make things choppier but emulation will be faster. You can also put the frameskip option to 'automatic' (it'll automatically change the frameskip to keep the speed up).
Games like Yoshi's Island, Super Mario Kart, Super Mario RPG and Star Fox will never be full speed btw.

| | | I don't think it's the ME version...
Donkey kong country games are slow as heck. (The ds runs them quite well though)
The castlevania games are somewhat slower in pace (Again, faster on DS)
Those games that you listed as well..Bummed that they'll never be full speed.
Kirby platforming games such as Dreamland 3 and Superstar are slow.
That's all I can think of for now..

| | Super metroid runs at full speed.
BTW I just got that ME version, and some of the games that were slightly slow became full speed.
Sadly i deleted all of those other slow games that where nearly unplayable, so I didn't get to check if the speed improved or not..
