| | | Assassin's Creed So, who's looking forward to this game? I know I am. It's gonna be so awesome. YouTube - Assassin's Creed gameplay Gametrailers.com - Assassin's Creed, Pre-E3 2K6 Trailer Gametrailers.com - Assassin's Creed, E3 2K6 Trailer
And here's the official website
There's a bunch of videos here also.
And here's some info I found on Wikipedia: Quote:
Assassin's Creed is a video game being developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. Various sources have stated for a worldwide November 9, 2007 release; as of yet, only the month has been confirmed.
The game takes place during the Third Crusade, in the year 1191. The player assumes the role of Altaïr (الطائر, Arabic, "The Flying One"), a member of the Hashshashin sect (the original "assassins"), whose objective is to slay the nine historical figures who are propagating the Crusades. As the player finds and kills these targets, their conspiracy is unveiled. The player will be able to travel through three cities: Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus.
The environment is completely interactive, from the people to the historically accurate cities. These cities are populated by many people, and the way the player controls Altaïr affects how the bystanders around him react to his presence. For example, when going through a crowd, if the player lightly moves someone out of the way, it will not have a significant effect. However, if the player throws someone to the ground and kills them, the crowd may unite against him and he will then have to find a way out. Similarly, if the player shoves a person aside, they may shove him back. If he climbs walls, civilians will gather around, attracting unwanted attention from guards.
The producers of the game take pride in its historical accuracy. The locations in the game are distinctive models of the cities. All of Altaïr's targets are also historic leaders who died or disappeared in the year 1191 (though not necessarily assassinated). | Quote: Altaïr:
Altaïr is a master assassin, and part of the Hashshashin sect. Over the course of the game he kills nine key men who are involved in a conspiracy to tear apart the holy land. The game is set in 1191, during the third crusade and takes place in the cities: Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus. Altair travels to these cities on a black horse, and kills his victims with a variety of weapons. While his face is always hidden, he is recognizable by his distinctive white outfit. The name "Altiar" is Arabic for "the flyer", Jade Ramond also stated that, when in mid air, his shadow is that of an eagle. This is because of the small point on his hood and his suit having a cut through the middle, giving the look of tail feathers.
Background
Altair is a Shia Muslim who was initiated in the exclusive Hashshashin organization. He is described as being more spiritual rather than religious; most likely a result of his parentage (a Christian mother and Muslim father). He is a skilled assassin, capable of near superhuman acrobatic feats, made possible only by years of rigorous training. He also gets more skilled over the course of the game, getting access to more weapons and equipment as the game progresses. Altaïr has around 800 different moves in the game, but won't be able to take more than one hit to the head.
Equipment
Altaïr is shown in trailers and development diaries to carry a large arsenal of weaponry and equipment. As shown in the Xbox 360 game play demo, he possesses a small crossbow, a longsword, and throwing daggers. The assassin's clan leader then gives the assassin a feather from a messenger bird, before each mission, which he is to soak in the blood of his main victim and bring back. Altaïr also has a mechanical dagger that he utilizes for close-range assassinations. It protrudes from a gauntlet on his forearm and out through the space created by his amputated ring-finger on his left hand.

| | | i want to know how it will ACTUALLY play, how fluid/awkward the controls are and the actual things you will be doing. very pretty graphics, but so much lies in the actual gameplay elements.

| | if its designed for consol play, the comp will just be awkward controls. games on the comp in general leave me with a bad taste in my mouth (maby i should stop licking the screen ) but seriously if i have to update my comp with new hardware/drivers every 3 months just to play a new game im not gonna play the game. i did that back in my early teenage years, it really pissed me off. thats why i love consols, you buy a new one every 5 years and you dont have to worry if your hardware is compatible with the latest and greatest game on the market.
