Bioshock

So Bioshock has been receiving awesome reviews, even given perfect scores by a number of publications and a 9.7 from IGN.

I'm going out to pick it up soon, has anyone had the chance to play it? And if so, what do you think of it? People say it has a very intriguing story, which is what I like, a game that is like a book come to life.

Wow.

This game is terrifying, maybe I am just a wuss, but manic screams, massive machines, little psychotic girls, Mr.Bubbles - it really freaks me out.

And I love how the story develops, and it's already incredibly interesting - I think this is one game I'll get round to finishing. :)

Buy it.

If it were on Wii. I don't have an Xbox 360 or a fast enough PC. But I did have a look at some of the proposed logos for the game, such as this one:

Looks familiar.

It is a great game, pity ur PC can't play it. I'm still really freaked out by it.

For example, I've just been exploring a bit, collecting as much ammo as I can (it's hidden everywhere!) and I was looking at this table for a few seconds, and I turned around and there was this tall blood-covered scientist with a wrench standing behind me. I hadn't even heard him coming - freaked the hell out of me.

And what is cool is you can collect diaries of people and they give you insight into what actually goes on in this place, tis a nice touch.

Here's a average of scores for BioShock

1UP - 10/10
Gamespy - 5/5
Eurogamer - 10/10
IGN - 9.7/10
Team Xbox - 9.5/10
Game Informer - 10/10
Games Radar - 10/10
OXM UK - 10/10
GamePro - 10/10
Console Gameworld - 9.9/10

With an average score of 9.91.

It looks awesome but I don't nice my computer would be able to run it smoothly and I don't have a 360 either.

All I can say.. is that this is standard Fare for Looking Glass studios.. This game borrows quite a lot from System Shock 2, but it's not quite as scary, though. Both games are seriously and distinctly disturbing. Thief 3, even, has one of the scariest levels in all of gaming history if you ever get to the asylum level.

It's like a System Shock game that has the absolute top of the line graphics, and a much more streamlined interface. It's amazing. I've been playing it constantly since the day it came out. Cant even be bothered with Metroid Prime 3.
