Earlier this year, EGM had an article about the iGame, which Apple was supposedly developing as a portable game system. Though this article was confirmed as an April Fool's joke, I read a recent article where Apple had expressed interest in portable gaming beyond what is already available for iPod. Namely, in making their own portable system similar to iPod, but for games. Nothing has been confirmed yet.

they are putting games into their newer ipods or something like that... however... apple has been hiring a lot of people lately with video game experience...
rumor has it they will be doing some kind of either portable or console.

I suppose I wouldn't be surprised. But more competition for Nintendo if it turns out true.

It's probably to beat out Microsoft in other markets. If they can put a halt to Microsoft in say, the video games market, they could gain an advantage for the PC software market.

Yeah, I just saw this reported on G4 again. I suppose it would be interesting to see a console or handheld from Apple.
Oh, and I also heard that the Sony is updating their controllers to make it full motioned sensored "like the Nintendo Wii", is what they said. Just goes to show that sony admits they copy others.

Yes it would be interesting to see what kind of design they came up with. I doubt I would get one though.

The more competition the better. After all, when you have more competition you also get lower prices and better products most of the time.
