| | | Well if your gonna sell, now is the time to do it. The wii is still fairly hard to get in some places, so best of luck to ya. I must say that what you are doing is a bit rash though. Just because Nintendo didn't show anything to "new" at E3, you just sell your wii in order to get something else. I could even say that you are whining about the lack of updates on the wii front. Patience is a virtue, but I also understand where you are coming from too. The Wii is pretty disappointing right now, but I'll hold my faith for a while longer. The Wii Ware also will help the wii soon, or at least I hope so...
Oh Well, as I said, best of luck to ya!

| | | This is the second year in a row that Wii has failed me. Last year was the same thing. Sure some might say...oh but SSBB or Mario Kart came out! But I dont play those kind of games. I like first or third person games. Like Zelda, Mario, GTA. etc. Hardcore games. And this is the second year I have been shafted. I cant wait another year for nintendo to deliver. Especially when all they seem to be interested in lately is periphials and attracking old people and other non gamers.
The other part of all this is that I want to play a lot of games that I cant get for nintendo. And Xbox360 and PS3 seem to get the games that I'm attracted to more than nintendo. I hate everytime I see a cool game come out, and its only for xbox and PS3. I'm not saying I'm done with nintendo forever. When a new Zelda game finally comes out...I'll find a way to play it.
I am buiying a xbox, because im sick of waiting for nintendo to come out with the new zelda. and i wanna play soem other games that arent available on nintendo.
So this isnt a rash decision. its been one coming for a long time.

So this isnt a rash decision. its been one coming for a long time. | I don't condider this a bad decision. I certainly will consider Microsoft's system when the next round of consoles comes out. They seem to have cool games that Nintendo wouldn't even touch. Nintendo has some serious catching to do.
For me this includes the following:
Zelda and Metroid by E3 2009 at the very latest.
A new (good) Mario title, soon.
More downloads. I want (for example) all the online song lists and such for Guitar Hero and Rock Band that 360 owners are getting.
Better 3rd Party games, no watered down or axed features/modes, whatever.
Better, not watered down, sports games. And I want all the sports. For the many that enjoy sports video games no NASCAR and no NHL is a no-no for the length of time the Wii has been out.
I'll be patient, I guess. But by the end of Christmas 2009 I expect to have a new Zelda, fun Mario game, possibly Metroid, and some fun 3rd party games on my shelf.
Until then I'll be enjoying Guild Wars: Factions and possibly grab some more Guild Wars titles.

| | | Little known fact: I solid my Wii last year when they were still in high demand (which means I nearly profited from the sale). I was planning on buying a Wii again if/when they announced some stuff that actually appealed to me. Like, I'm fine with them making stuff for the casual market, I believe it's a great business move, but they have completely shafted the people who made them what they are.
I just have my 360 now, and a great lineup of games (Halo Wars, RE5, Fallout 3, Fable 2, Banjo Kazooie etc) so it'll tied me over. MS, whilst their casual market stuff is fairly lame, at least know they shouldn't disappoint the dedicated gamers who bought their system (and their games) at launch. They started their presentation with hardcore stuff, interspersed it with casual stuff, and then ended with the OMG MEGATON that is Final Fantasy on the 360. |

| | | Pokemon isn't one of their big series. What do you want, another Stadium? That accolade goes to Star Fox, whether you recognize that or not. Pokemon just happens to be a hit with the kids who don't control their own allowances or have snooty attitudes, though some might do.
Also, Animal Crossing has wheelbarrows of depth. Wheelbarrows. I suppose some people aren't willing to look for it. |

| | | I think the lack of big titles for the nintendo is why everyone was looking for Kid Icarus to hit the scene. In my opinion... Mario, Zelda, and Metroid are the only games that Nintendo has for hard core gamers. Kid Icarus, and maybe even Disaster:day of crisis (which I doubt we'll ever see) were in my opinion, The greatest things that nintendo could do for the hard core nintendo fan boy. But now, as much as I've tried to deny it, I've given up on nintendo. Yeah, they'll still make mario zelda and metroid games, adn maybe even one day a kid icarus game. But they only care about the easy dollar. And they've found out they can get it by selling crappy games like wii sports and wii music. add on some stupid periphial and people will pay out their asses to get it.
So nintendo has sold out. They went for the money and said "eff off

Also, Animal Crossing has wheelbarrows of depth. Wheelbarrows. I suppose some people aren't willing to look for it. | I didn't say Pokemon was one of their better games. I mentioned it with Mario,Zelda, and Metroid because it, with them, is one of their more recognizeable, well selling titles.
Animal Crossing is fun, and does definitly have depth. What I meant mostly is that for me it's a game I can pick up and play and have an hour of fun, but it doesn't keep making come back for more. Decorating a house, sending letters, fishing, catching bugs, and doing chores for animal neighbors gets boring after awhile. I play for a week, have fun, then get bored and don't play again for some time.
For me, if I play most Zelda and Mario games for example, even though you can't do much after beating the game, it keeps you in the experience when you are playing through the first time and maybe a second, third, etc.. What's in the next dungeon? What will happen in the next part of the storyline? How can I solve that tricky puzzle? They have a lasting appeal.
If Animal Crossing does that for you, then great. Animal Crossing is a good, fun game. But I'm seeking a little more then Animal Crossing. I'll probably buy Animal Crossing: City Folk, but who can argue some Zelda,Mario,or Metroid wouldn't be nice in the near future?
I guess it's just preference, but when I look at this year's E3 lineup for Nintendo I see fun games, but none that would have a lasting appeal.
Some Kid Icarus would definitly be nice. I think after we saw Pit hit the current-gen in Brawl Nintendo almost has to make a Kid Icarus game eventually.

That has nothing to do with Nintendo themselves. Nintendo doesn't make nascar, or nhl games. And it's also the developers fault for not adding DLC to guitar hero and rockband because I'm pretty sure that FFCC:My life as a king already has DLC. PS2 ports with added waggle isn't their fault either. It's just the 3rd party developers wanting to cash in with the popularity of the Wii.

| | | honestly, I have no problem with any system other then the PS3 (which I still don't understand why I hate it, I just do) but the 360 dosent have anything that great coming until the holidays either. I think that 360's games are overblown by most people. Examples are Too Human, which does not appeal me at all and we have known about for almost a year, and Dead Rising, which was got old after 1 complete playthrough for me. Don't even get me started on GTA 4, that game was broken to the point that I wanted to destroy my 360. Plus the fact that the 360 is HD or bust in the fact that some games like Dead Rising, if you have an SD TV you will NOT be able to read the tiny text unless you go right up to the screen.
Honestly, And this also goes to 360 and PS3, but mostly to nintendo, I do not want another Zelda. I do not want another Halo. I do not want another Rachet and Clank. I want something new, and better. I can play the same old shooter in the Halo series; I can play another quest in Zelda, but in the end, they will mostly stay the same forever, not including spinoffs such as links crossbow training and Halo Wars. I want games like mass effect, which have an origanal story, and good gamplay. Or even another Lost Odyessy, which combines graphics, story, and uses a mostly old combat system with a few tweaks to make it better. That is what I, as a hardcore gamer want. Not the old, but new
