| | | The course of life How do you see your life? Are you always looking to the future or trying to fix the past? Are you super-chilled or super-stressed? How do you deal with problems? Generally, tell us your attitude towards life.
The way I see it, I do have some control over my life. I can be unlucky sometimes, but there's always something to get out of a situation and a way of fixing most things if your willing to try. I tend to look to the now and the near future. I learn from my past, but I try not to dwell on it. I just use it as experience. At the same time, I'm not very good at planning and I have no idea where I'll be in five/ten years, nor do I much care. What happens happens. I tend to be chilled, but when something does get me down, I'm not very good at dealing with it, and my hope and optimism varies widely.
There's my slant on life, what's yours?

| | | Here's how I see it. You can control a few little things but not the big important things. Things rarely go as planned. As Woody Allen once said "You wanna make god laugh, tell him your plans." So I'm not big on plans. I just take life as it comes. If I have a problem I don't feel sorry for myself. I try to come up with a solution. I'm always looking forward to the future though. Also, I don't believe in luck. "Luck" is really just the consequences of the choices you make. You are responsible for your actions. I'm never chilled. I'm always stressed because I can't control the big important things in my life. I hate not being in control! I'm also very cynical which I think is good because it makes me see things as they really are. I never expect anything from anyone. I just do my own thing. That said, I always keep my sense of humor. I can find something funny in any situation I'm in. |

| | | I should get the fck up more and do sh!t, cos as it is right now, I don't. I have a 'I'll see after it later' kind of attitude which doesn't get me anywhere. Sometimes I get these 'clear' moments in which I say to myself I should do this and that but that lasts like five minutes, after which I'm back to my lazy, unresponsible self. I've failed at least three courses this year and I think the last one was bad as well, and financial stuff like collegemoney (how to get it and how to pay it, both) I only did after a whole schoolyear of my dad's nagging.
I also am not always as social a person as you guys may think, and many days I spend quite alone in my room, especially since me and my (ex)girlfriend broke up. I'm kind of in the pre-midlife crisis, where I wonder where the hell all this sh!t is going to. I'm sure I'll snap out of it sometime. |

| | | Ditto on that, Slash. Except for the breaking up thing. Well, good luck, I hope you don't do what I did. Go Fistful's way instead lol

| | I know this is kind of an old thread but I find it interesting enough to post on it, and hopefully if it catches other people interest, to learn from them too. Quote:

5. Generally, tell us your attitude towards life. | - Learning: There is still a difference from how I would like to take life, and how I really take it in the moment of truth. I see my life as something that it is here, and can become for me what I allow it it be. Though during the hard trials, sometimes is a bit hard to keep this focus. But I am here, learning and walking.
- I am not looking at the future often, I have always trouble to answer when I am asked: "How do you see yourself in 5 years." I honestly don't plan on that unless it is necessary. Another thing related to that is that I have no ambitions, no big drives for the future, so I usually don't plan, just go by it. For example, I want to learn to play guitar, I get into trying to learn it but I don't put myself a timed goal. I don't make a schedule or organize myself to accomplish it the most optimum way possible. Which brings me to another thing: I am very unorganized.
- I am not kidding. In that way, I am lazy and you may think you'll find me chillaxing often, yeah, I kind of do, but I also have a lot of stress when I fail to balance things between what I want to do and what I need to do. Heheheh. I am always experimenting dilemmas about that.
- To be honest, it is not really hard to bring me down and dwell in the what-if. The ideal thing, for me, would be not to fall in self pity, take whatever happened as another thing to learn from, check your surroundings to know what you have, where you are and try to move out onto what you want and how to trace your way to it.
- I always try to go with the saying "No matter how many times you fall, as much as that you get up after each of them", the important thing is to keep going, and I try to keep going, no matter if I feel unsure or insecure, things won't change if I don't change what I am doing. My dad used to tell me "how can you expect to get a different result if you keep putting the same input?". I know it is true. So I try not to forget this when things are going down, as well as when things are all right, then is when I am reminded of the good ol' saying "if it aint broken, don't fix it".

| | | I am extremely similar to Kaynil. I don't really look forward to the future, I look forward to the time I spend with the people I care about. I try not to look to the past, because I get somewhat suicidal, depressed and quite angry and violent. |

| | | My life so far hasn't been that great, except for meeting my bf. It has mostly downs and a few ups now and then. But I don't look that much into the past. I am often stressed about the future but I think it'll be fine. ^^ |
