Well, if you're in college, why did you take that class? Major or requirment? I go to school from 9 to 5 but it's classes that I like.
But on to the main topic. The thing with school and homework is that sometimes what the teacher gives for homework may not be what was taught that week or day in class, and it could be that the teacher is not delivering the correct material to the students or not presenting it in a formal manner.
Remember, a teacher can't teach someone, they could only present the information to the student so they could understand it in thier own terms. That's why, let's say in math, one student totally understands how to solve a difficult problem one way and other student has a different way.
It really falls down to what the teacher is presenting, whether it is sufficient enough for the students to understand well.
