| | | it's impossible to say its strictly nature (born that way), and its impossible to say its strictly nurture. i think its a combination of the 2. you may be born with a higher inclination to potentially become gay, but through your life experiences you will develop one way or the other.

But anyways... | I think she just hated me from the start...I dunno why =( but, yeah.

I don't understand why people think we treated her that way and don't even come to realize the wrong things she had said, it just pisses me off.
Anyways, what BM was talking about with people being born with a gay nature, I had never even thought about that concept until this thread was created. It seems to make some sense. Afaik, maybe people can be born with that type of inclination. | I remember having to lock and delete THREE threads made my members citing homosexuality as incorrect and immoral and anybody who lives that way was a bad person.

| | | I know we have strayed off topic here, but the subject of miss poof poof came up, and I wanted to weigh in also. She was rude and mean. If you had a different opionion than her, watch out!
One day,(I don't remember the thread) I used the word gay in a post. It was not the homosexual meaning. (Throughout even recent history gay has come to mean more than one thing. When I was a child, gay meant happy.) I have seen others here use the term in the same way since then, and to my knowledge, nobody has taken offense. Anyway, when she saw that she sent a PM to me in which she verbally ripped my head off for using the word in that way. I am surprised that she didn't leave negative feedback for me. I changed the wording in my post so as not to offend her, and PM'd an apology. Do you think she cared to thank me for the consideration? No.

| | | Quick question: Why did you apologize? You should have forwarded that message to mod. Why should you put up with that sort of treatment? |

| | | Well, that's an easy one. She was miss poof poof and I am Miss Nice Nice. Ok, not quite, but I try not to offend, and I ....uh, well, I don't like confrontations..... Really, I just want everyone to get along. Also, if I think I did hurt someone, even unintentionally, then I should apologize.

"I am Miss Nice Nice."
That made me laugh.

No. | To be honest I was handing out warnings and editing posts with the word gay used in a derogatory way, and lots of people find this offensive. The only reason I stopped doing this is the same people were using it so much, they clearly did not take the hint and I eventually gave up trying to do anything at all.

| | | Yeah, that's pretty gay of those people.
Sadly, I just think people are way too easily offended, and prepared to look to the nearest authority figure for backup rather than deal with it themselves, and that's tragic. It's hard on the mods and it's bad for the community.
Arguing about gay people, and what makes them gay, and whether it's right or wrong is silly, it's like arguing about a pile of poop in the woods... fighting about where it came from, and whether it's right or wrong that it's there, and deciding whether to put up rules and regulations to stop people from pooping in the unmonitored woods... it doesn't matter why, and it could be decades before we're close to an answer that satisfies everyone.. it could be never... but trying to regulate it is asinine.. people are still going to go poop in the woods, it's just an argument about whether it's wrong to do it or not and if someone who's caught doing it should be condemned.
It's such a deeply personal behavior, that whether you think of it as a deviant sinful choice, or a born disposition, that the person will still seek out the opportunity to do it if they want to... it's a waste of time to regulate that.
If it really bothers you that much, organize a lynch mob. If the lynch mobs start bothering you, try to arrest them. But why argue about it? No one is going to wholly change anyone's mind on the topic of defecation in the woods
